Third one in the series of 101 Homemade Face Packs (and I am getting bored already!) OK this should be the last for today. It's essentially more of a face wash or cleaner, this particular face pack that is made mainly of besan or gram flour.
The important thing to remember when you are making this face pack at home is to use only freshly prepared gram flour. As using stale gram flour may cause rash. In India, it is common custom to use gram flour instead of soap for bathing babies.
Gram flour is easily available in India. And if you live in the sub-continent, it shouldn't be difficult for you to procure fresh gram flour. All you need to do is ask the shopkeeper if the flour is fresh enough to use for baby wash. Seriously, that's what my mum told me to do and it worked(I got the best!).
Anyway, for the recipe of how to make a face pack of gram flour(or besan in Hindi) you will need to mix together 1 tbsp of yogurt , 2 tabsp of gram flour and a pinch of turmeric(optional). Blend together to form a smooth paste and apply on face and neck.
You need not leave the pack to dry off completely. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse off with water. Alternatively, this pack can also be made simply with gram flour and water. It has a great cleansing effect but tends to dry the skin a bit. So I suggest you mosturize well after the pack.
